SUMMARY
Examensarbetets mål är att beskriva och beräkna Arvidsjaurs och Arjeplogs kommuners framtida bergmaterialbehov med utgångspunkt från bygg- och anläggningsprojekt som pågår och som planeras. Syftet är att få en sammanställning som visar om materialet räcker till eller om det finns behov att öppna nya täkter. Sammanställningen kan med fördel användas av kommunerna som planeringsunderlag beträffande nya vägbyggnadsprojekt.

Alla tillståndsgivna täkter i Arvidsjaurs och Arjeplogs kommuner har kartlagts och täkternas kapacitet har också tagits fram. Även alla pågående och planerade vägarbeten kommunvis och årsvis från år 2005 fram till 2009 har karterats. Därefter har kapacitetsminskningen efter planerad årsförbrukning av bergmaterial beräknats. Beräknat bergmaterialbehov redovisas i form av tabeller, kartor och löpande text samt års- och kommunvis. Datainsamling har skett genom telefonintervjuer, intervjuer, e- postkorrespondens och litteraturstudier.

Resultatet från studien visar att i Arvidsjaurs kommun räcker de nuvarande täkterna när det gäller bergmaterialmängd jämfört med planerade vägarbeten. Även täkternas lokalisering är geografiskt välplanerade, d.v.s. nära de planerade vägprojekten.

I Arjeplogs kommun räcker bergmaterialet väl till de nuvarande och planerade vägarbeten, men underhållmässigt finns det ett visst behov av en mindre täkt i norra delen av kommunen. Västra delen, ungefär halva kommunen, tillhör fjällområdet och på grund av berggrundens sammansättning (i huvudsak olika typer av skiffrar) är det svårt att hitta lämpliga ställen att öppna en täkt i området.

Summary

The goal of this study is to describe and calculate the future need of rock aggregate in the municipality of Arvidsjaur and Arjeplog with respect to planned roadworks. The purpose is to make a survey, which shows if the amounts of rock aggregate are enough or if there is a need to exploit new quarries.

All the licence given quarries in the municipalities of Arvidsjaur and Arjeplog has been mapped and also the rock aggregate capacity of the quarries has been taken out. All the present and planned roadwork from both of the municipalities and annually from the year 2005 to 2009 has been mapped. Then the capacity reducing of the rock aggregate after the plan of the annual consumption is calculated.

The result shows that the present extraction places in the municipality of Arvidsjaur are sufficient when the quantity of the rock aggregate is compared with the plans of the roadworks. Also the localisations of quarries are geographically well planned, which means that they are close to the planned road projects.

In the municipality of Arjeplog the rock aggregate suffices well to the present and planned roadworks, but in the maintenance of the roads there is a certain extent need of a smaller quarry in the Northern area of the municipality. The West side, about half the municipality, belongs to mountain territory and because of the quality of the bedrock (most different kinds of schist) it is difficult to find a suitable place to exploit a new quarry within the area.
