SUMMARY
International pricing is an area that has more or less been left out in
academic research. We therefore thought that it would be interesting to
write a thesis regarding this subject. The purpose of this thesis is to
describe the price setting process for international prices, factors that
influence the choice of international pricing strategy, and which
international pricing strategies are used. We chose to study Swedish SMEs
located near Luleå, Sweden. This study utilizes three qualitative case
studies on the three companies Liko AB, Antenna AB and Polaris Optic AB. We
found that the price setting process for international prices differed among
the companies. We also found that some factors, for instance costs,
influenced the choice of international pricing strategies more than other
factors. However all companies adopted the same pricing strategy as the
primary strategy.
