SUMMARY
The research purpose of this thesis is to gain a better understanding of how Swedish Multinational Companies (MNC’s) lobby towards foreign governments. The research questions concern how lobbying can be described and also how those involved in lobbying can be described. Literature related to the two research questions is reviewed and empirical data is obtained from case studies of two companies in different industries. The responding companies are LKAB and Telia. When interviewing LKAB we meet the respondent at his office and when collecting the empirical data from Telia we spoke to the respondent over the phone. Our interviews showed us that lobbying is a common and open activity and also that the companies put much emphasis and resources into their lobbying activities. There are mainly two organisational methods for a company to chose between when incorporating lobbying into their business. Lobbying is a rapidly growing concept in today’s business environment.
