SAMMANFATTNING
The aim with this thesis was to study what possible strategies a market
leader as well as a market follower or challanger could choose to do when
being exposed to increased competition. The method which we used was a case
study at three larger companies in Piteå. These were Robin Hood, Sabels and
Rimi. In our study we came to the conclusion that the theory in many
situations, fits well with the strategies that the companies has chosen. The
difference between reality and the theory is taht the ´companies in reality
not are locked to a certain strategy, and that they rather used a mix of
strategies, instead of a specific one.
